The 40 years of void

mixed with emotions

that fall short in some

measures but shoot with

a sharpness in certain others,

are overpowered and replaced

with a state of being

that can be best described as floating

in cotton-ball-like clouds

and, cool and blue-green ocean waves

at the same time,

when your scent,

which is sweet-salty and crisp-flowery,

swirls inside the nose,

spreading across the cheeks, mouth

and gradually the entire body

as you hold yourself close to me,

your forehead brushing up against

the tip of the nose.
